Northamptonshire Sub-regional Investment Plan (SRIP) 2010-13

In April 2009 Northamptonshire County Council (the County Council) took on responsibility for the management of Single Programme investment in Northamptonshire. The Northamptonshire Sub-Regional Investment Plan (SRIP) sets out a programme of activity to address specific sub regional and local economic challenges. In addition to tackling some of the impacts of the current recession, the SRIP is designed to help combat arguably the most significant risk to Northamptonshire which is that, regardless of the target, jobs will not keep pace with houses. This could result in a future with more out-commuting than current levels, failure to achieve increases in value and productivity of jobs, and failure to create sustainable communities. The SRIP is developed within the context of the region’s overall priorities for sustainable economic development and the Regional Economic Strategy (RES). It will guide the County Council’s investment decisions for Single Programme funding over the next three years. It also provides a context for further regional investment from the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and others in Northamptonshire.
