Assessing the Housing Requirements of North Northamptonshire (July 2015)

This report provides an independent and objective assessment of demographic evidence to inform North Northamptonshire’s objectively assessed needs for housing (OAN). It does not address employment trends or market indicators, evidence on which is provided in the JPU’s Housing Background Paper (January 2015).

In considering demographic evidence, the report follows the approach suggested by the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the Planning Practice Guidance (PPG). It starts from the latest trend-based official projections and considers what adjustments are needed to reflect factors which have not been picked up in the trends used in those projections.

Evidence is analysed at a local authority level and then aggregated to provide a composite picture for the North Northamptonshire Housing Market Area.
